2006 Melbourne Fire Department Bylaws

Welcome to the Melbourne Fire Department official website. We are the County seat of Izard County located in the central part of the county. We are a paid per call / Volunteer department with 21 paid per call/ Volunteer members.

We currently run out of 2 stations. We operate 3 Pumpers, 1 Rescue, and 1 Tanker. Services we provide include: Fire suppression, 1st responder to medical emergencies, extrication, high angle rescue, wildland rescue, fire safety, Haz-mat recognition.

We are currently a class 5 department with a call volume around 300 calls per year.

Station #1 is a 4 bay station with classroom and Chief's office. Station 1 covers the industrial park, airport, golf course, and second in engine on all structure fires in the city. Station 1 houses Engine 22, 21, and Tanker 1.

Station #2 is a four bay station. Station #2 is our downtown station covering Century Flooring, Courthouse, Sheriff's Office, and the first engine on all structure fires in the city. Station #2 houses Engine 23, and Rescue 1.
